An Arizona man has been arrested in Colorado for allegedly breaking into a Union Pacific locomotive and riding naked on its roof while it was in motion. The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office identified the suspect as Daniel Ray Ballance, of Quartzsite, Arizona.

Deputies took Ballance into custody on Thursday after witnesses reported seeing him atop the moving train. Authorities stated Ballance allegedly broke a window to gain entry into the locomotive before climbing onto the roof.

Ballance faces felony and misdemeanor charges in connection with the incident. His booking photo was released by the sheriff's office, which also posted a statement on Facebook regarding the arrest.

"For those of you who had the unfortunate experience of seeing this gentleman surfing naked on top of a moving locomotive yesterday, I want you to know that he was arrested on felony and misdemeanor charges," the sheriff's office wrote on Facebook.

According to the sheriff's office, Ballance told deputies he loved "vodka, beer and playing the Banjo." The agency added, "Unfortunately, we had to separate him from those loves and the train ride. Instead, Daniel is spending some time at an all-expenses-paid stay in jail, where he is presumed innocent until proven guilty."

Court records detailing the specific charges were not immediately available. Authorities have not publicly disclosed what prompted the alleged incident or if anyone aboard the locomotive was injured.
