Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs has secured the Democratic nomination for her re-election bid, running unopposed in Tuesday's primary. She will face the winner of the Republican gubernatorial primary in the general election battle for the key southwestern state.
Hobbs, a former Arizona Secretary of State, narrowly defeated Republican Kari Lake four years ago. She has begun a significant campaign to reach voters, spending approximately $7 million on advertisements during the primary election period, despite having no opposition.
These ads have targeted independent and Republican voters, highlighting economic achievements during her tenure and her work with the Republican-controlled legislature. "We are running the race we need to win, and it is going to take a lot to get there. We know it's going to be a close race," Hobbs told reporters.
