Garrett Moore, the 40-year-old son of the Earl of Drogheda, married 25-year-old heiress Hope Chilton in a private ceremony in London. Chilton is the daughter of American billionaire Richard Lockwood Chilton Jr., a significant figure in finance and vice chairman of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
The wedding took place at St Sophia's Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Bayswater. A source close to the couple described the event as a low-key affair attended by a small group of close friends and family. Ms Chilton wore an ivory satin gown for the ceremony, which occurred earlier this year.
Moore, a society party planner known for hosting events for celebrities, was previously engaged to 1970s film actress Colleen Camp. Camp, 73, is 33 years Moore's senior and the same age as his mother. The couple had announced engagement plans in 2020, but the marriage did not materialize.
Camp, known for her roles in films such as Apocalypse Now and Clue, had described her relationship with Moore as "magical" but later suggested their proposed wedding was "a joke that went too far." Moore himself had humorously compared their romance to the film The Graduate.
Following the separation from Camp, Moore re-engaged in his event planning career and met Ms Chilton through mutual acquaintances. A source close to the couple stated at the time of their engagement that Moore and Chilton were a "perfect match," noting her intelligence and unpretentious nature.
Hope Chilton grew up in the United States and attended the University of North Carolina. She later worked in the private members' club sector in New York. Her father, Richard Chilton, is the owner of Crichel House, a historic Georgian estate in Dorset, England, which he and his wife Maureen purchased in 2013. The estate, a 25-room mansion set on 1,500 acres, has served as a filming location for movies and was once considered as a potential residence for Prince William.
Garrett Moore is the younger son of the Earl of Drogheda and his wife Alexandra, Countess of Drogheda, a former BBC producer. His elder brother, Ben Moore, is the heir to the earldom.
