Arch Manning, quarterback for the Texas Longhorns, acknowledged seeing and finding humor in a viral AI-generated video that depicted coach Steve Sarkisian appearing to slap ESPN reporter Holly Rowe. The incident followed Texas's dramatic 24-23 comeback victory over No. 1 Ohio State.

Sarkisian had abruptly ended a postgame interview with Rowe, stating, "That's called Texas fight! That's called Texas fight! Hook 'em!" before walking away. This interaction quickly became a subject of online discussion and led to the creation of numerous AI-edited videos.

When asked about the AI edits, Manning confirmed he had seen some, including one featuring Sarkisian and Rowe. "I saw AI edits of Sark’s interview," Manning said, prompting laughter from those present. He specifically referenced the edit showing Sarkisian slapping Rowe, adding with a smile, "That's hilarious."

Manning's response, however, drew criticism from some social media users who found the humor inappropriate. "Slapping a woman isn't funny — even [when] done by AI. I don't care who you are," one user commented, expressing concern that Manning and the media present found the edit amusing.

Manning was instrumental in Texas's comeback victory, contributing 196 passing yards and a touchdown in the second half to overcome a 23-3 deficit. Texas, now ranked No. 1 nationally, is scheduled to host the University of Texas at San Antonio next Saturday.
