Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) has sharply criticized the reported involvement of a Russian oligarch in funding the wedding of Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson. The New York Democrat described the revelation as "disgusting" and a sign of an administration prioritizing personal gain over national interests.

According to a ProPublica report, Umar Kremlev, an oligarch with close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin, helped finance the wedding ceremony, which took place in the Bahamas. Kremlev also reportedly attended the event.

"I mean, as we see, these guys are in the pocket of everyone but the American people," Ocasio-Cortez told Pablo Manríquez of MeidasTouch. She added, "This administration, they are selling out every single person in this country for a buck."

When asked about the funding for the wedding, Ocasio-Cortez questioned the motive, asking, "And for what? To have a couple of extra frills at your wedding?"

Donald Trump, the father of the groom, did not attend the wedding, citing responsibilities in Washington, D.C.

Ocasio-Cortez also pushed back against President Trump's assertions that the nation is experiencing a "golden age." "A golden age of what? Of what? I mean, he’s putting golden toilets all over Washington, D.C.," she stated.

When asked for his reaction to Trump's "golden age" claim, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) quipped, "You need gold to buy diesel now so maybe it is the golden age."
