Ant and Dec have unveiled a new "I'm a Celebrity" spin-off series, titled "Wild Frontier," set to air next year. The show will feature celebrities competing in pairs through wilderness trials, with hosts teasing "surprise twists" and inherent "danger." This new format marks a departure from the traditional solo celebrity competition.

Filming for "Wild Frontier" is currently underway in Canada. The presenting duo hinted at challenges that will test the bonds of the paired contestants. "To take part you have to enter as a pair, compete as a pair and then leave as a pair," Ant explained in a teaser shared on "I'm a Celebrity's" Instagram. He also cautioned, "out here in the Canadian wilderness, danger lurks around every corner," playfully referencing the presence of bears.

Dec alluded to a "big twist" and confirmed that "I'm A Celebrity... The Wild Frontier" will conclude with a live grand final in London, allowing viewers to vote for their winning duo. This announcement has drawn scrutiny from some fans, who recall the "absolute disaster" of a previous live finale in South Africa. During that event, winner Adam Thomas became involved in an on-air altercation with fellow contestants Jimmy Bullard and David Haye, leading to heightened tension and on-stage walkouts by other celebrities.

Fans expressed concerns on social media about the decision to host another live finale. Comments included "The last live final wasn’t enough for you boys, clearly," and "Hope it's not a live final in England like the last one." Others questioned the format, stating, "Did we not learn from the last one?"

The reported lineup for "Wild Frontier" includes several pairings such as husband and wife duo Rio and Kate Ferdinand, Venezuela Fury and Noah Price, and siblings Louise Redknapp and Joe Nurding. Other confirmed contestants reportedly include former "Dancing On Ice" judges Christopher Dean and Karen Barber, boyband members Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy, and social media personalities Paul Olima and Jeremy Lynch.

"Wild Frontier" is expected to run for 15 episodes. The standard "I'm a Celebrity" series from Australia is also slated to return later in the year, preceding the launch of the new spin-off.

Joining his co-star in the wilderness, Dec, 50, shared: 'It's a brand new show, with an exciting new format. Loads of new trials and challenges, and we cannot wait to bring it to you!'

Continuing with discussing the show, Ant goes on: 'I'm A Celebrity... The Wild Frontier launches next year and we'll have a live grand final from London, for you to have your say and pick your winning duo'
