Angelina Jolie is reportedly considering a significant move away from Los Angeles, with her youngest children, twins Knox and Vivienne, recently celebrating their 18th birthdays.

Vivienne and Knox officially became legal adults on July 12, shortly after graduating from high school. According to a source speaking with People, Jolie, 51, is preparing to "experience the world" with her children and is ready to depart from California.

"She has been talking about leaving Los Angeles for years," the insider stated, adding that Jolie "has wanted them to experience the world and she's excited that they can all do more of that together now."

Jolie shares the twins, along with daughters Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 20, and sons Maddox, 24, and Pax, 22, with ex-husband Brad Pitt. The couple's divorce was finalized in December 2024, following an eight-year legal battle. With all her children now adults, Jolie is reportedly feeling a sense of "more freedom and flexibility in her life."

In an August 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jolie alluded to her ties to Los Angeles being primarily due to her divorce proceedings. She stated that as soon as her twins turned 18, she would be able to leave.

Jolie has previously expressed a desire to spend time in Battambang, Cambodia, and to use New York City as a base for her work. She has mentioned that while she grew up in Los Angeles, she remained there due to her divorce obligations. She also noted that raising a large family in the city could be challenging, seeking a different kind of humanity than what she experienced growing up there.

In May, prior to the twins' birthday, Jolie listed her California compound for nearly $30 million. The estate, which includes a six-bedroom, 10-bathroom mansion on 2.1 acres, was once owned by filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille. The property remains on the market for $29.85 million.

In related news, court documents obtained by the Daily Mail revealed that Jolie and Pitt's children Zahara and Maddox have published notices of their intent to drop the surname "Pitt." Zahara's requested name change to Zahara Marley Jolie was filed a month prior, and Maddox also filed to drop the actor's last name in late May. California law requires individuals seeking a name change to publish an Order to Show Cause in a newspaper for four consecutive weeks before their court date. Zahara's hearing is scheduled for September 28, and Maddox's for September 14. Shiloh and Vivienne have also reportedly stopped using Pitt's last name.

Jolie and Pitt are also engaged in an ongoing legal dispute over Château Miraval, their French estate and vineyard, which they purchased together. The legal battle over the property has been ongoing since 2022, with a recent development involving Jolie requesting a judge not to require her to turn over financial records to Pitt. Her attorneys argued that Pitt misrepresented her claims about "financial vulnerability," stating her aim was "financial independence" rather than a need for money.
