Angelina Jolie was seen in Beverly Hills this week as her legal battle with ex-husband Brad Pitt over their French winery, Chateau Miraval, continues. Pitt's legal team has requested that Jolie turn over financial records from 2017 to 2019, alleging she has withheld documents despite agreeing to provide them.

According to court documents, Pitt's lawyers claim Jolie agreed to produce financial records for the years 2017 through 2021 but has only provided documents for 2020 and 2021. The legal team is now seeking to obtain records detailing her annual income and profit participation statements from the earlier period.

Jolie's legal filings assert that after her 2016 separation from Pitt, she largely put her career on hold, forgoing compensation. Her legal team also contends that Pitt held significant leverage over her due to her financial situation at the time, which led her to decide to sell her stake in Miraval by 2019 to achieve financial independence. Pitt's legal team disputes this, suggesting Jolie has not been under economic pressure and that Pitt did not exert economic coercion between 2017 and 2019.

During an informal discovery conference, the court reportedly proposed limiting the scope of Jolie's testimony regarding her earnings and compensation. Jolie reportedly declined this proposal, indicating she may argue at trial that Pitt used Miraval as leverage to control her. The parties have not resolved this dispute.

Pitt initially sued Jolie in February 2022, alleging she sold her half of the winery, where they married in 2014, without his consent. He claimed an implied agreement existed that neither party would sell their share to a third party without the other's approval, a claim Jolie's side denies.

The legal dispute over Chateau Miraval is part of the broader fallout from their 2016 separation. The former couple, who share six children, have been involved in lengthy legal battles over custody and assets. A trial concerning the winery is scheduled for February 2027.
