Footballer Andy Carroll and make-up artist Lou Teasdale have reportedly ended their relationship for a third time, with the split allegedly triggered by Carroll breaking a promise to reduce his alcohol intake. The couple have removed traces of their relationship from social media and blocked each other.
The break-up is said to have occurred after Teasdale flew to Ibiza to confront Carroll over his partying. According to a source, Carroll had promised to abstain from drinking in an effort to salvage their relationship. "He was partying and having fun, which is fine but she just didn't expect him to be drinking," a source told The Sun. "Andy had promised he wouldn't touch booze to try and save their relationship, so this feels very disrespectful."
Teasdale reportedly attempted to reason with Carroll in Ibiza with friends, but was unsuccessful. "She feels like he's had enough chances now," the source added.
Following the reports of the split, Teasdale posted a montage on Instagram about "the magic of doing Ibiza sober."
Carroll and Teasdale's relationship has been on-again, off-again. They first separated in August of the previous year after a series of arguments, initially with reports claiming Carroll ended the relationship due to Teasdale's perceived high-maintenance behavior. However, it was later revealed that Teasdale was the one who initiated the split. They reconciled four days later, only to break up again three weeks after a "make or break" holiday.
Carroll, who is also going through a divorce from his estranged wife Billi Mucklow, had previously spoken about his relationship with Teasdale. In a statement to The Sun on Sunday, he said, "I love Lou and I love her family. We row like any couple. Things have been difficult for me and I'm going through a divorce. Some of our rows have been about alcohol, as Lou has been teetotal for 14 years and I have a beer or wine at dinner and a drink after the game, but it's not a problem in my life. We're better off together and we're trying to work through our difficulties."
Carroll has several children from previous relationships, including Arlo, Wolf, and Marvel with Mucklow, and Emilie Rose and Lucas with ex Faye Johnstone. His marriage to Mucklow officially ended in July 2024, following a relationship of over a decade and a two-year marriage.
