Romanian prosecutors have officially indicted social media influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan on charges including trafficking minors, money laundering, sex with a minor, and witness tampering. The indictments follow an investigation that began years ago, leading to the brothers' arrest in Miami in July.

The Tate brothers, who hold dual U.S. and British citizenship, are currently facing extradition proceedings. Last week, they informed a Florida court of their desire to be released from jail to combat their extradition to the United Kingdom, where they face separate charges of rape and trafficking.

Andrew Tate, 39, has maintained his innocence, stating he has "never committed the crimes I'm accused of." Tristan Tate, 38, has described his prison conditions as cramped and hot, with limited opportunities for exercise and sunlight, impacting his ability to assist in his defense.

The brothers rose to prominence as polarizing internet personalities, promoting themes of wealth, male dominance, and misogyny. Their legal defense has suggested that their exaggerated claims of wealth and possessions, including luxury cars and a superyacht, were intended as satire or jokes to enhance their online personas.

No date has been set for an extradition hearing, and the UK has a deadline in mid-September to submit evidence to the State Department.
