Amanda Holden's daughter, Lexi Hughes, recently joined her mother and Sam Faiers on a brand trip to Crete. Hughes, 20, was seen in a pink strapless dress during the outing, while Holden, 55, wore a burgundy dress. Later, during a sunset dinner, Hughes opted for a white sheer top and satin skirt, and Holden wore a pale pink satin dress.
The trip was for Sam Faiers' brand, Revive Collagen, for which Holden is an ambassador. Faiers, a former star of "The Only Way Is Essex," launched her collagen brand in 2020, and it is now available in Boots stores and internationally.
Hughes has recently begun to step into the modeling industry, having been signed by Storm Management and making her catwalk debut at London Fashion Week in 2024. During the holiday, she was pictured in a mint green bikini.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Holden addressed the ongoing debate surrounding "nepo babies," a term that has gained traction for individuals perceived to have benefited unfairly from parental connections in the entertainment industry.
"Being someone's kid is not going to secure work, make a living for you and longevity in whatever career," Holden stated. "It may get you a foot in the door, but then you're on your own." She argued that it is unfair to single out show business or the music industry, calling them "the worst businesses to be in."
Holden further explained that people in all professions would utilize any connections available to them, citing her own experience at Global Radio, where she hosts "Heart Breakfast." She mentioned that children often visit the studios to learn about the industry and that she welcomes them.
"Hollie [Amanda's youngest daughter] is going to be doing this next year, but any kid that I know – if they needed a hand, the door is open," Holden said. "If I can help anyone, I'll do it. It's not just my own kids, it's my friends' kids."
She concluded, "I just hate the term nepo baby, because it's up to them to make it on their own. And it's often worse having a famous parent, it's not often a good thing."
