Amanda Bynes recently showcased a slimmer physique while out in Los Angeles. The 40-year-old actress, who revealed in December that she had lost 28 pounds with the help of Ozempic, has continued her weight loss journey in the months since. She was seen wearing a white-trimmed silver miniskirt and a loose-fitted white t-shirt with "NEW YORK CITY" emblazoned across it. Bynes completed her look with her platinum hair swept back, a white handbag, and pale purple sneakers.
Bynes has been in a relationship with event planner Zachary Khan. She shared a video of them driving at night on Valentine's Day with the caption, "love u zachary." Khan has largely been kept out of the public eye, but Bynes has shared tributes to him on social media.
Earlier this month, Bynes went viral for her public reaction to the death of former child star Hayden Panettiere, who died at age 36. Panettiere was found deceased in August at an Airbnb in South Carolina, with initial reports suggesting a suspected overdose. A heavily redacted police report indicated that Panettiere's on-off boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, was present at the scene. An autopsy found no signs of trauma that would have contributed to her death.
In response to the news, Bynes shared old headlines about a 2013 interview where Panettiere claimed she had avoided the career pitfalls that affected contemporaries like Bynes and Lindsay Lohan. Bynes commented, "Life can hit you hard, and fast. What a horrible situation." When a commenter urged her to be kind, Bynes replied, "I was simply stating... glass houses."
Bynes has publicly documented her struggles with bipolar disorder and substance abuse, which led to legal issues between 2012 and 2014, including two DUIs and two hit-and-runs. Her parents obtained a conservatorship over her in 2013, which lasted until 2022 when she was released with their approval. In 2023, she was placed on a psychiatric hold after an incident where she was reportedly found roaming the streets naked and alone. Her parents did not seek to re-establish the conservatorship, noting her own efforts to seek treatment.
Bynes began her Ozempic journey in June of the previous year, expressing a desire to lose weight to improve her appearance in paparazzi photos, aiming to reach around 130 pounds from her starting weight of 180 pounds. By November, she reported a 20-pound loss. She later clarified her weight loss in January, stating she had lost 28 pounds on Ozempic, bringing her down to 152 pounds. Bynes also mentioned that depression had caused her to gain 20 pounds, and her ultimate goal was to return to her teenage weight of 110 pounds. Additional cosmetic procedures include lip fillers and eyelid surgery, which she described as beneficial for her self-confidence. In May, she got a tattoo of the Roman numeral X on her finger to commemorate a friendship anniversary. She also recently changed her hair color from platinum blonde to raven black and then back to blonde, and has altered her eyebrow color multiple times. In June, she announced plans to have gold bottom teeth installed as a replacement for her current veneers.
