Lauren Bailey has shared an emotional message following the death of her husband, former Kansas City Chiefs player Allen Bailey. In an Instagram Story post, she described her profound grief and spoke of their love.
Allen Bailey, a former defensive end, was found dead at his Florida home on October 20. His brother, Alford Bailey Jr., told TMZ that the family believes he died of natural causes. He was 37 years old.
"I still can’t even say the words out loud," Lauren wrote in her post, accompanied by a black and white photo of her husband. She expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support, messages, calls, and prayers the family has received. "We are all devastated. My husband was widely loved and will be missed by EVERYONE."
She further described Allen as "the most incredible man I have ever met" and a soulmate, stating, "I am so grateful I got to experience such an everlasting passionate love." Lauren conveyed the deep pain of his loss, calling it a "sting in my heart and a punch to the gut," but affirmed her faith, adding, "The peace of Jesus Christ is the only way I’ve been able to endure this pain."
In a separate post, Lauren shared a photo of Allen on a beach and invited those who wished to send flowers to message her.
Bailey played for the Chiefs for eight seasons after being drafted from the University of Miami in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He then played two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, appearing in 31 games before his release in 2021. Over his 133 regular-season NFL games, Bailey recorded 22 sacks and 248 combined tackles.
