Socialite and interior designer Alice Naylor-Leyland celebrated her 40th birthday with a grand party at Villa Cetinale in Tuscany, Italy. The event featured ball gowns, ponies, and a choreographed dance routine, with guests including Lady Mary Charteris and model Poppy Delevingne in attendance.
Princess Beatrice, a close friend and business associate of Naylor-Leyland, was not visibly present in photos shared from the celebration. Lady Mary Charteris, who is also a socialite and DJ, shared images from the festivities on Instagram, describing the event as "full mambo Italiano."
Naylor-Leyland, who founded the homeware brand Mrs Alice, was dressed in a gold sequinned gown for the occasion. Other guests, including children, enjoyed the villa's amenities, such as the pool, during the daytime.
The Tuscan villa, known as Villa Cetinale, has been described by Architectural Digest as the "most beautiful villa in Tuscany." It was originally purchased by Lord Lambton nearly 50 years ago and has hosted notable guests including Princess Margaret and Mick Jagger. The property is now owned by Lambton's son Ned and was redecorated by Camilla Guinness before being featured in the series "Succession."
According to its rental website, Villa Cetinale is an architectural marvel featuring a renowned garden, a chapel, a hermitage, and a holy wood. The grounds include numerous statues, busts, stone animals, and monsters. Historically, the villa has been a center for horse racing, hunting, sacred pilgrimages, and entertaining.
Naylor-Leyland's business, Mrs Alice, which she launched in 2019, has seen significant success, particularly in the U.S. market, which accounted for 65 percent of its sales as of last year. The brand reportedly generated £2 million in its first year. Customers often purchase multiple items, with an average order consisting of nine products. Naylor-Leyland launched the brand with her mother, Serena Fresson, initially offering a "tablescape in a box" kit. She has since collaborated with designers such as Marie Chantal of Greece, Poppy Delevingne, and Erin O'Connor.
Known for her style, Naylor-Leyland has contributed to Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. Last year, she collaborated with Princess Beatrice on a tablescape collection to benefit Borne, a charity focused on ending premature birth.
Naylor-Leyland is married to Tom Naylor-Leyland, heir to the Fitzwilliam landowning fortune. She first met her husband at a party hosted by Lady Mary, and they began dating five years later, marrying three years after that. Tom Naylor-Leyland is the eldest son of Baronet Sir Philip Naylor-Leyland and is set to inherit the family's considerable fortune and estates, including Nantclwyd Hall in Wales.
