Alex Cooper, host of the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, publicly addressed an internet troll who criticized her for discussing the challenges of pregnancy. Cooper, 31, shared a screenshot on her Instagram Story of a message she received from a user named Chris, which stated, "Don't complain about being pregnant. Your choice. Pregnancy can be hard."

Cooper responded to the message, overlaying text that read, "Just wanted to share all the DMs I get like this are from men. 'Pregnancy can be hard.' Oh Chris tell me about your pregnancy, I would love to hear, babe!"

This exchange follows Cooper's candid updates about her pregnancy journey with husband Matt Kaplan, 42. Last week, she revealed to her 7.7 million Instagram followers that she had been diagnosed with gestational diabetes. She described the diagnosis as isolating and upsetting, particularly during a time already filled with significant emotional changes.

"When I got this diagnosis, the first couple days, I was really hard on myself and it felt very isolating," Cooper explained in a video. "As much as my family and my husband and everyone was there for me, I just felt like it's me on an island."

She noted that gestational diabetes can affect anyone, regardless of prior weight, diet, or fitness level, due to placental hormones causing insulin resistance. Cooper expressed her primary concern for her child's health and her commitment to doing "whatever it takes" to ensure a healthy pregnancy, while also acknowledging the personal struggle.

Cooper announced her pregnancy in May. She and Kaplan, CEO of Ace Entertainment, have been together for six years and married in 2024 in Riviera Maya, Mexico, after becoming engaged the previous year. Kaplan has been married twice before, divorcing Australian actress Claire Holt in 2017 and previously dating Ashley Olsen.

Cooper's expanding family comes amid a public feud with former employee Alix Earle. Cooper accused Earle of passive-aggressively commenting on social media and reposting content that likened Cooper to an "ambulance chaser" profiting from trauma. Earle, in response, stated she wished to keep things positive.

In 2024, Cooper signed a significant $125 million, three-year contract with Sirius XM. Her previous earnings include over $1.5 million from a three-year deal with Barstool Sports in 2018 and a $60 million, three-year deal with Spotify in 2021. Kaplan's recent work includes executive producing the "Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special" with Cooper.
