All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star Adam Copeland recently shared his experience of the immense crowd reaction at Arena México during the Grand Slam Mexico event on August 5. He described the atmosphere as the most impactful since his return to wrestling at the 2020 Royal Rumble, leaving him feeling energized for hours afterward.

Copeland, who had previously listed Arena México among his desired venues for future performances, competed in an eight-man tag team match alongside Christian Cage and The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson). The entrance was met with an explosive reaction from the crowd as Alter Bridge's "Metalingus" played, a sound that AEW commentator Tony Schiavone deemed unprecedented in his career.

"It was one of those where you kind of leave your body for a second and you're there, but you're kind of somewhere else soaking it in," Copeland told Fox News Digital. He recalled the feeling being similar to his return at the 2020 Royal Rumble, noting a deep gratitude for the fan support during this comeback phase of his career.

Copeland acknowledged the challenge of coming down from such an intense crowd response. He mentioned needing to engage in activities like watching television shows to relax and counteract the adrenaline. "The hardest thing about a night like that is back in the hotel after because you're wired for sound," he explained. "You're just like… now and I've found that I now have to do things to kind of go, right, OK, wrestling's gone now."

He expressed profound thankfulness for the continued fan engagement this far into his career. Copeland believes the crowd in Mexico City shares a mutual understanding that this opportunity to see him perform in Arena México is a unique, possibly once-in-a-lifetime event, adding to the special nature of the experience.

Looking ahead, Copeland and Cage are scheduled to challenge for the AEW World Tag Team Championship at the upcoming All In event, facing The Young Bucks. The pair previously won the tag titles in a brutal "I Quit" match at Double or Nothing.

Beyond his wrestling career, Copeland also touched on his health initiative, Pure Plank, which he started with Jay Reso nearly two years prior. He stated that people have approached him expressing gratitude for the program's role in their improved health, emphasizing planking as an accessible starting point for fitness that can lead to broader workout routines.
