ActBlue co-founder Matt DeBergalis invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination during a closed-door deposition before three key House committees, sources familiar with the matter told Fox News Digital. DeBergalis' testimony, which lasted less than half an hour on Thursday morning, came as part of a joint investigation by the Committee on House Administration, the House Oversight Committee, and the House Judiciary Committee.
These committees are examining allegations that ActBlue, a major online fundraising platform for Democrats, may have inadequate fraud prevention measures. The investigation is reportedly focused on whether these alleged lax standards could have allowed foreign donations to improperly enter U.S. political campaigns.
DeBergalis was observed entering and exiting the committee room within approximately a 25-minute timeframe on Thursday.
