Aaron Rodgers has outlined his post-retirement plans, which prominently feature starting a family and becoming a father. The NFL quarterback intends to step away from professional football at the conclusion of the 2026 season.

Rodgers expressed his excitement for this future chapter in a recent interview with Sirius XM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio. "I’m hopefully going to be supporting my pregnant wife because we’re going to start a family and I am not going to be making a lot of appearances or statements," he told host Adam Schein in a preview clip. He added that he is looking forward to "a life of quiet after 22 years in the pros and three in college and getting [his] body healed up and working on a family."

The athlete, who confirmed in May that the current NFL season would be his last, shared that he has enjoyed being "Uncle Aaron" to his brother's children and that these experiences have increased his and his wife's desire to have their own children. "I can’t wait for that next chapter of life and all that that entails, and sleepless nights and crying babies and changing diapers and all those things. I’m looking forward to all of it," he stated.

Rodgers further confirmed his intentions in another statement earlier this week, indicating that fatherhood is his "next chapter." While they are not currently expecting, he conveyed his eagerness to become a father.

Rodgers revealed in June 2025 that he had secretly married. He has largely kept details about his wife, known publicly as Brittani, private, stating that she "doesn’t want to be in the public eye." He has, however, spoken about his "incredible wife" and how meeting her changed his world. He also credited her with facilitating his reconciliation with his family after a years-long estrangement, noting that conversations with his wife allowed him to "open up to the possibility of coming together."
