Aaron Rodgers has publicly detailed the circumstances surrounding his past relationships, including a surprising claim about his ex-fiancee, actress Shailene Woodley.

During an appearance on the "Not Just Football" podcast, Rodgers stated that Woodley asked to "go f***" another man before they were to marry. Rodgers proposed to Woodley in December 2021, but their relationship ended approximately three months later. He shared that Woodley informed him of her desire to be with someone else shortly after his proposal. "She literally told me, 'I don't want to be with you' after we tried some reconciliation in 2021," Rodgers said. "There’s just a lot of narrative out there that isn’t true."

Woodley previously described the breakdown of her relationship with Rodgers as a "traumatic thing" in 2024, stating she "felt like I lost my soul, my self, my happiness, my joy." She also noted that empathy for "someone else" kept her in a "toxic situation."

Rodgers also addressed his past relationship with former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick. The couple dated from January 2018 until their split in July 2020. Rodgers claimed Patrick was "depressed" during their time together and that they experienced "intimacy issues." He recounted a situation where Patrick inquired about purchasing a house in Malibu together, and his refusal signaled the end of their relationship. "She tells a story that she was so blindsided and getting left by you, and that he leaves a trail of blood around him," Rodgers stated, refuting Patrick's previous accounts. "And I'm like, what are you talking about? That's not what happened."

Last year, Patrick described her relationship with Rodgers as "emotionally abusive" and said it "wore me down to nothing."

Rodgers, who is preparing for his 22nd and final NFL season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, also mentioned he is married to a woman named Brittani. A source indicated that Rodgers intends to step away from public life after his football career concludes, focusing on his role as a husband and potentially a father.
