Aaron Rodgers, the NFL quarterback, has attributed his recent family reunion after years of estrangement to his wife, Brittani. In an interview with NFL Network's Kyle Brandt, Rodgers spoke about the process of reconnecting with his parents, Edward and Darla, and his older brother, Luke.
"There’s been a lot of conversation about it outside of my own conversations for so many years," Rodgers said. "You know, a big part of it was getting married, and having those conversations with my wife that allowed me to kind of open up to the possibility of coming together."
Rodgers, 42, described the reconciliation as a "couple-year process" and a "beautiful" experience. He recently spent a long weekend with his parents, brother, his brother's wife, and their two children, noting that he had the opportunity to be an uncle. "It’s been really beautiful to reconnect with them — all of them," he stated.
He acknowledged his wife's supportive role without implying she pressured him. "I gotta give my wife a lot of credit for — not that she was pushing me because she never was — but just the way she loves and supports me, having her by my side throughout this process has been really special and I miss those relationships," Rodgers said.
Earlier this month, Rodgers posted a series of photos on Instagram showcasing his reunion with his family, including pictures with his parents and a shot of him with Luke assembling a child's toy. The carousel concluded with images of Rodgers with his niece and nephew.
The estrangement between Rodgers and his family was publicly addressed in 2016 when his brother, Jordan Rodgers, a contestant on "The Bachelorette," stated on the show that Aaron had distanced himself from the family. Jordan is married to former "Bachelorette" star JoJo Fletcher.
Rodgers confirmed his marriage in June 2025, though he has largely kept details about his wife private. He previously explained his desire for privacy, stating in a June interview on "The Pat McAfee Show," "I lived in the public eye for 20 years. I had public relationships. How did that work out? And now I’m with somebody who’s private, who doesn’t want to be in the public eye. Didn’t sign up to be a celebrity. Doesn’t want to be a part of it."
