A 93-year-old woman was killed Monday afternoon after being struck and left on a Bronx street by a hit-and-run motorcyclist. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. near White Plains Road and East 225th Street.

Leonara Campbell, a retired nurse and great-grandmother, was on her way to pick up medication and treats for neighborhood children when she was hit. Eyewitnesses reported that the motorcyclist was speeding in an attempt to beat a traffic light shortly before the collision.

"He was speeding up," one eyewitness told The Post. "He was trying to make the light. About halfway up the hill you could hear [him] speed up. Then he let off as he was coming across. Then, ‘boom!'" The witness added, "He hit her, Just as he was hitting her I turned away and said, ‘Oh my God!'"

Video footage from the scene captured the motorcyclist speeding down the street moments before striking Campbell. Another camera angle shows the impact and the motorcyclist continuing without stopping. According to reports, the biker glanced back at the victim before fleeing the scene on a 2012 Yamaha YZFR1.

"He then stopped. He looked at her for a good minute, and then he left," said Rolando Barrett, Campbell's grandson. "The guy needs to give himself up, because they still haven’t found him yet."

Bystanders attempted to assist Campbell until emergency services arrived, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. "Her head was bleeding by the jaw, and her ankle was all messed up, her knee all messed up," eyewitness Noel Crewe said. "We were all standing there for 45 minutes trying to help her, but by the time the ambulance took her she had already passed."

Police have launched a manhunt for the motorcyclist. Campbell's family expressed grief over the sudden and tragic nature of her death.
