Armando Rubio, a star of the TLC reality series “90 Day Fiancé,” has been unable to join his 13-year-old daughter, Hannah, who is hospitalized in an intensive care unit in Phoenix, Arizona, after suffering a serious medical emergency.
Hannah was initially hospitalized in Mexico with symptoms including half her face drooping and a loss of strength in half her body. Doctors recommended she be transferred to a facility in the U.S. for proper testing and care. Hannah was transported to Arizona, where doctors discovered bleeding in her brain. She was subsequently airlifted to a Phoenix hospital for further treatment.
Rubio shared the news via an Instagram video, expressing his distress at being separated from his daughter during her critical condition. He stated that he was denied entry at the U.S. border when attempting to apply for a temporary humanitarian parole to be with Hannah. He and his immigration attorney are pursuing a separate emergency request.
Rubio told Page Six that being unable to be at his daughter’s bedside has been the most difficult experience of his life. He emphasized that Hannah needs her father and that he needs to be with his daughter.
Kenny Niedermeier, Rubio’s husband, was in Ohio for a family funeral at the time of Hannah's medical emergency. He has since traveled to Arizona to be with her. Rubio's mother and sister are currently with Hannah at the hospital.
A GoFundMe campaign has been established by a close friend of Rubio and Niedermeier to help cover Hannah’s medical expenses. As of the report, the fundraiser had garnered over $28,000.
Rubio and Niedermeier, who met through a Facebook group for gay dads, have been raising Hannah together since Niedermeier moved to Mexico to be with Rubio. They were featured in Season 2 of “90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way,” which documented their relationship and Niedermeier's move. Rubio shared Hannah with his late ex-wife, who died in a car accident.
