San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York filed for divorce from his wife, Danielle Belluomini, in May, just months before he was arrested for allegedly attempting to solicit a prostitute. The divorce filing was submitted in Santa Clara County on May 11, citing "irreconcilable differences" after more than 15 years of marriage. The couple's two minor children, Jaxon and Brixton, were listed as additional parties in the case, which remains unresolved.
York was arrested on a Sunday morning in August in East Palestine, Ohio. According to court documents, authorities alleged that York "arranged to have sexual activity" with a woman in exchange for $140. Police stated that York was apprehended at the meeting location, a trailer park, with his cellular device, which was allegedly used to arrange the criminal act.
He was initially charged with one count of engaging in prostitution and one count of possessing criminal tools. On the following day, York entered a no contest plea to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct and one count of possessing criminal tools. He was sentenced to one day in jail, receiving credit for time served, and ordered to pay $1,150 in fines.
The 49ers organization stated in response to the arrest, "As this is a legal matter, which has been resolved, we will not be providing any further comment at this time." A spokesperson for the NFL confirmed awareness of the situation, adding that it "will be reviewed under the personal conduct policy."
