San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner acknowledged awareness of owner Jed York's recent arrest in Ohio but stated his primary focus remains on the team's preparation for the upcoming season.
York was arrested on prostitution-related charges in East Palestine, Ohio. Warner, speaking to reporters, expressed his respect for York and indicated that the arrest had not been a significant topic of discussion within the team's locker room.
"I mean, we’re all aware, right? I think we all have social media, so we see things. But at the same time, you know, I got a lot of love, a lot of respect for Jed, and don’t feel the need to comment on the situation," Warner said, according to the California Post's Evan Webeck.
Warner added that the team largely shares this sentiment, emphasizing that the focus is on preparing for Week 1 of the NFL season. He noted that many players are competing for roster spots, making the team's performance the priority. "You know, a lot of guys are on the bubble trying to make the team, so you know we’re we’re just trying to get better as a football team and letting that you know that’s a personal situation, letting it stay personal with him," Warner stated.
The linebacker's comments come as he aims to re-establish himself as a premier player in the league after missing the final 12 games of the 2025 regular season and the playoffs due to a fracture-dislocation of his right ankle.
