A 13-year-old boy was killed and a 45-year-old man died in a drive-by shooting at a home in Gresham Park, Georgia, on July 2. The 13-year-old, identified as Demarcus Shirley, was at a sleepover when dozens of shots were fired into the residence around 4 a.m. A dog was also killed in the attack.

Keyshun Webb, 21, has been arrested and charged with two counts of murder for the deaths of Shirley and Chauncey Newman, 45. Webb also faces eight counts of aggravated assault and a charge of animal cruelty. According to an arrest warrant, shots were fired from a car Webb was driving. Authorities are investigating the possibility of gang involvement, though friends of Shirley have denied he was involved in gang culture.

Investigators believe four individuals and two vehicles were involved in the shooting. The other suspects have not yet been identified. DeKalb County Sheriff Melody Maddox stated the department is committed to apprehending those accused of violent crimes.

According to the arrest warrant, Webb was allegedly involved in another drive-by shooting on the same day as the Gresham Park incident.

One of Shirley's friends, Larry Bell-Ware, described him as a "funny little kid who liked to run around and play like a normal little kid" and stated, "Demarcus had too much to live. He died too young."
