The New York Yankees have placed pitcher Ryan Weathers on the 15-day injured list due to a low-grade forearm strain, an injury he believes will not prematurely end his season. Weathers exited Saturday's game in the fourth inning with the injury, which he described as a relief to be a less severe issue than a more significant UCL (ulnar collateral ligament) problem he experienced last year.
He is scheduled to meet with team doctor Christopher Ahmad to determine the next steps in his treatment and recovery. Weathers expressed optimism that his UCL remains intact, indicating that the current ailment is less serious than a comparable injury he sustained previously with the Miami Marlins.
In response to Weathers' placement on the injured list, the Yankees recalled pitcher Brendan Beck from the minor leagues. Additionally, the team activated Cody Bellinger from the injured list, bolstering their roster.
