Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is facing a potential season-ending surgery after sustaining a thumb injury, according to Ravens coach Jesse Minter. Minter confirmed postgame that Jackson would undergo surgery on his right thumb and be placed on injured reserve.

The two-time NFL MVP's injury occurred on his first play back in action after a three-game absence due to a high-ankle sprain. The injury forced him out of Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills, which the Ravens lost 36-10.

Jackson's placement on injured reserve means he will miss a minimum of four games. When asked if the surgery would conclude his season, Minter responded, "Potentially. We’ll see where it’s at."

The Ravens also faced a quarterback crisis during the game as backup Tyler Huntley left with a toe injury, leading to undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano entering the game. The team now sits at 4-4 and in last place in the AFC North.
