WWE SmackDown wrestler Blake Monroe has expressed a desire to face actress Jennifer Lawrence in the wrestling ring. Monroe cited a scene from a movie she watched, where Lawrence's character displayed assertive physical action, as inspiration for her call-out.
Monroe, who recently joined the SmackDown roster, made the comments prior to SummerSlam. She recalled watching a film featuring Lawrence, possibly "No Hard Feelings," and noted the actress's performance. "She takes him skinny dipping on the beach and these kids steal their clothes and she goes and beats them up and she’s butt-naked giving out perfectly formed Saito suplexes," Monroe said in an interview with Love Wrestling. "So, I’m like, I think she would be really, really good. And she’s so funny and hot."
Monroe added, "So, Jennifer Lawrence, if you want to fight me or fight with me, you know where to come."
The WWE star has been featured in several promotional videos ahead of her anticipated main roster in-ring debut, though she has not yet had a formal match. Monroe made an appearance on "Friday Night SmackDown" in June, where she confronted Giulia. Her most recent match in NXT was a casket match against Tatum Paxley for the NXT Women’s North American Championship on April 21, which she lost.
Celebrity involvement in professional wrestling has become increasingly common in recent years. Notable instances include Travis Scott's appearance at WrestleMania 41 to assist John Cena, Jelly Roll's multiple matches, and Lil Yachty acting as a spokesperson for Trick Williams. Monroe's call-out to Lawrence adds to this trend of crossover appearances.
