A hospitality provider is facing backlash over the amenities offered to attendees of the World Cup final who purchased a $1 million package.
Ten fans reportedly secured this premium package through On Location, described as an official hospitality partner for major global events. However, upon sharing images of the pitch-side seating at the New York New Jersey Stadium, social media users criticized the arrangements.
Concerns were raised about the seating location, described by some as the "worst seats" in the stadium. The fact that attendees were seated on sofas facing the sun, with temperatures around 27 degrees Celsius, further fueled the criticism. Attendees were provided with sun hats to mitigate the conditions, a detail that some users noted felt inadequate given the high cost.
Additional complaints focused on the view from the seats, with mentions of an obstructed view due to photographers and a glass barrier. "$1 million and it's genuinely a terrible view," one user commented.
Despite the criticism of the seating, the $1 million package reportedly included other amenities. The experience commenced on Saturday with attendees invited to a Sports Illustrated party hosted by 50 Cent and Diplo. Transportation from Manhattan to the stadium was provided via helicopter. The package also included VIP tickets to other high-profile events and restaurants scheduled for after the World Cup final.
