The WNBA has postponed the game between the New York Liberty and the Dallas Wings, originally scheduled for Thursday, due to significant travel delays caused by mechanical issues with the Liberty's charter flight. The league announced the game will be rescheduled for Monday, July 20, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET.

The Liberty's team plane experienced mechanical problems that kept the players on the tarmac for an extended period. According to reports, the team switched planes once before eventually deplaning around 12:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday night. Player Pauline Astier shared her frustration on social media, noting "10 hours later, still on the tarmac."

Due to the travel disruptions, the Liberty canceled their scheduled shootaround on Thursday. The team is currently fourth in the Eastern Conference with a 13-11 record and has lost seven of their last 10 games, including their most recent three.

This schedule change creates a demanding stretch for the Liberty, who are now slated to play three games in five days across three different cities. They are scheduled to play the Indiana Fever on the road on Saturday, the Wings on the road on Monday, and the Chicago Sky back in New York on Wednesday.

The Dallas Wings, who currently hold a 16-8 record and have won their last five consecutive games, will also face a condensed schedule. Their upcoming games include a home matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday and the rescheduled game against the Liberty on Monday. Following that, they are set to travel to play the Portland Fire on Wednesday.

The WNBA stated that the Dallas Wings will honor all tickets purchased for the original Thursday game.
