A recent performance of the national anthem at a WNBA game left players and fans alike with surprised and amused reactions. Before the Los Angeles Sparks faced the New York Liberty at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Thursday night, four-time international whistling champion Chris Ullman performed "The Star-Spangled Banner."

Ullman's whistled rendition prompted visible reactions from players on the court. Videos captured Sparks star Dearica Hamby exchanging glances with teammates Kate Martin and Alissa Pili as they appeared to stifle laughter. Other players were seen staring in surprise at Ullman. At one point, Sparks center Cameron Brink seemed to join in the whistling, mockingly following along with the performer.

The on-court spectacle preceded a competitive game, with the New York Liberty ultimately securing an 85-81 victory over the visiting Sparks.
