Wimbledon plans to implement stricter rules regarding influencers and equipment that could disrupt matches, according to reports. The All England Club will reportedly not credential influencers and will confiscate items such as ring lights that interfere with play.

This decision comes amid ongoing discussions about the conduct of influencers at the U.S. Open. The U.S. Open introduced a new program last year, credentialing nearly 100 content creators and influencers. During recent matches, a group of influencers in a suite were cautioned by an umpire, and a video circulated showing an influencer using a ring light during live points.

Several professional players have commented on the situation. Naomi Osaka stated that while it can be positive for popularizing tennis, the practice needs better management and that participants should be aware of the sport's etiquette. Coco Gauff likened attending a sporting event to attending a red carpet event, emphasizing the importance of following the sport's established etiquette.

Wimbledon's current entry conditions already prohibit items that could disrupt matches. The club's move to proactively address potential disruptions indicates a different approach compared to the U.S. Open's influencer program.
