Wembley Stadium has been overlooked for the 2028 and 2029 Champions League finals, with UEFA awarding the prestigious matches to Germany's Allianz Arena and Spain's Nou Camp.
The decision was made during a UEFA executive committee meeting held in Thessaloniki, Greece on Tuesday. London had hoped to stage a fourth Champions League final in under two decades, but the national stadium's bid was unsuccessful.
In addition to the final host selections, the meeting also confirmed a new format for the Nations League, which will feature a system of promotion and relegation. Details on how this new structure will be implemented were not immediately available.
