A warrant has been issued for the arrest of former NBA player Ty Lawson in Colorado after he missed a mandatory court appearance.

The warrant was issued in Douglas County last week, stemming from a July 16 incident where Lawson is accused of stealing a $34 bottle of Tito's vodka from a Castle Rock liquor store. According to a probable cause affidavit, Lawson allegedly took the bottle without paying and then consumed it nearby, appearing "possibly drunk" and stumbling.

Lawson was arrested in July and charged with one count of theft, specifically shoplifting under $300. He appeared for an initial court hearing on October 1 but failed to attend a subsequent hearing later that month, leading to the bench warrant. The bond for the warrant has been set at $2,500.

Lawson played eight seasons in the NBA, including stints with the Denver Nuggets and Sacramento Kings. He averaged 12.7 points and 6.0 assists per game over 551 career contests.
