Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft has been activated off the physically unable to perform list, marking a significant step in his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) suffered in November. Kraft shared a positive update on his condition Friday, indicating he is progressing well in his rehabilitation.
Kraft's doctor described his knee as looking "spectacular" and noted that his rehabilitation progress was exceptional. While Kraft will not immediately participate in full team drills, he will begin by engaging in individual drills and walk-through periods. Packers coach Matt LaFleur stated that this phased approach will help Kraft reintegrate into team processes, including hearing play calls and lining up correctly.
Since tearing his ACL against the Carolina Panthers in November, Kraft has been sidelined for the final eight weeks of the regular season and the playoffs. He expressed his focus on returning to his pre-injury performance level, describing his comeback as "ever-ascending day by day."
Kraft, a third-round pick in 2023, has become a key target for quarterback Jordan Love, particularly in the red zone. In the 2024 season, he recorded a career-high 707 receiving yards and seven touchdowns over 17 starts. Prior to his injury in the 2025 season, he had accumulated 489 receiving yards and six touchdowns in limited play.
The Packers are set to begin their preseason schedule against the Pittsburgh Steelers on August 13. Their regular season opener is scheduled for September 13 against the Minnesota Vikings.
