Trent Rockets are in a precarious position regarding automatic qualification for The Hundred final after suffering a six-wicket loss to Southern Brave. The defeat means the Rockets must now wait to see how other results unfold to determine if they will progress directly to the final or face a playoff match.

Southern Brave's chase was anchored by a crucial 70-run partnership for the fourth wicket between Tristan Stubbs and Marcus Stoinis. Stoinis contributed 46 runs from 25 balls, featuring four boundaries and three sixes, before being dismissed by Ben Sanderson. With eight runs required from the final five deliveries, Stubbs and Nikhil Chaudhary guided Brave to victory.

Stubbs sealed the win with a six off Lewis Gregory, finishing unbeaten on 52 from 28 balls. His innings included four fours and three sixes, achieving a strike rate of 185.71.

Earlier, the Rockets had set what appeared to be a competitive total. Mitchell Santner led the scoring with an unbeaten 35 off 23 balls, forming an unbroken sixth-wicket stand of 66 with Gregory, who added 28 not out from 18 balls.

Southern Brave's bowling attack shared the wickets, with captain Chris Jordan taking the key wicket of Finn Allen for 23. Young bowler Manny Lumsden's opening spell conceded 19 runs, and he was not brought back into the attack.
