Tottenham has completed the deadline-day signing of Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk on a season-long loan deal. The move allows the 25-year-old Ukrainian international to resume his career after serving a 20-month ban for the banned substance meldonium, which concluded in August.

Mudryk had not featured in a match since November 2024. He joined Chelsea for a reported £89 million from Shakhtar Donetsk. He made brief appearances in pre-season for Chelsea before the loan move.

At Tottenham, Mudryk will reunite with former manager Roberto de Zerbi. "It's a great feeling. I can't wait to start training and playing for the Club, and I'm so excited to be reunited with De Zerbi," Mudryk stated. "I'm a player who brings speed and creativity, and I want to help in both the offensive and defensive areas. I want to make the fans excited. I can see it's a strong squad here with good players, and I'm looking forward to sharing a pitch and special moments with them."

De Zerbi expressed his confidence in the winger, noting their previous working relationship. "Having worked with Misha earlier in his career, I know exactly what he can bring to our team," De Zerbi said. "He has the quality to change a game with his speed and ability in one-vs-one situations, and is an exciting, attacking talent. I will demand a lot from Misha and it is our job to help him find the best version of himself. If we do that then he can become a very important player for us. I am very happy he chose to come here, and I cannot wait to work with him again."

Tottenham reportedly faced competition from several other Premier League clubs, including Leeds, Coventry, Brentford, and Sunderland, for Mudryk's signature. Chelsea had considered sending the player on loan to their sister club, Strasbourg, but Mudryk preferred to remain in England's top flight.
