Tottenham Hotspur has reached an agreement with Newcastle United to sign Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali, according to reports. The deal between the clubs is understood to be in its final stages, with an initial fee of £92.5 million that could rise to £100 million with add-ons tied to Champions League qualification.

Newcastle United had initially rejected a £75 million offer from Spurs before a subsequent £90 million bid was also reportedly turned down. The Magpies were believed to be holding out for a package totaling £100 million, which Tottenham has now agreed to meet.

This potential acquisition follows Tottenham's recent agreement to sign Mateus Fernandes from West Ham United. The north London club reportedly agreed to a £85 million fee for the Portuguese midfielder, fending off interest from Manchester United and Real Madrid who withdrew from the race at that price point.
