Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) world women's champion Persephone has been recognized as the "breakout star of the year" by All Elite Wrestling (AEW) personality Thunder Rosa. Rosa, speaking to Fox News Digital, highlighted Persephone's hard work and strategic career progression that has led to her current success.

Persephone has held multiple titles, including the CMLL world women's championship, the Universal Amazons championship, and won the 2025 Grand Prix de Amazonas. Her impact extends beyond CMLL, with appearances in AEW, Maple Leaf Wrestling, and Ring of Honor.

"I think she's one of those talents that – she bet on herself a long time ago," Rosa stated. "She was a luchadora. She had a mask. She lost her mask and she's been working very, very hard to make that opportunity for herself. And I think that she has found her time. And it's been this year, I think she's been the breakout star of the year I will say."

Rosa has observed Persephone's development since 2020 on the independent circuit and noted her ability to connect with audiences, whether as a heel or a fan favorite. "Now, how she's been able to transition into American style, it's also very interesting to see because when you see this transition, me going into Mexico and trying to transition into Lucha Libre and her, although she was born here, in America and she's binational, having the fact that she has to transition into American style of wrestling is always very, very good to see," Rosa said. "But she's very smart and she knows what she's doing. So, I'm really proud of her."

Persephone recently competed in AEW's Survival of the Fittest match for the TBS Championship. She also accepted a challenge from Tessa Blanchard for the CMLL Women's Championship.
