Tammy Beaumont, a prominent England batter, has announced her retirement from international cricket. Her final appearance will be in the upcoming Test match against India, scheduled to begin on Friday at Lord's. This match marks a significant occasion as it is the first women's Test to be played at the historic venue.

Beaumont, 35, made her international debut in 2009. Throughout her nearly 17-year career, she has represented England in 11 Test matches, 140 one-day internationals, and 109 T20 internationals. She holds the England women's record with 12 ODI centuries and is one of only two English women, alongside former captain Heather Knight, to have scored international centuries in all three formats of the game.

"Playing for England for nearly 17 years has been the greatest honour," Beaumont stated. "When I fell in love with playing cricket as a young girl, I barely knew that playing cricket for England was an option and it brings me so much joy to think how many girls and boys have been inspired, this summer especially, and how far the game has come in our country."

She added, "We've always wanted to take the cap forward for the next generation and the time has come for me to hand over that privilege to the next generation of England players. This Test match at Lord's – our first-ever women's Test at Lord's – feels like the perfect occasion to sign off on a career that I could never have dreamt would be as special as it has been."

Beaumont confirmed that she will continue to play domestic cricket. She currently represents The Blaze in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and the Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred.
