Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay has acknowledged crossing paths with star pass rusher Aaron Donald as speculation continues regarding a potential return from retirement. Donald, who announced his retirement in March 2024, has not yet made a definitive decision about playing in the upcoming 2026 season.
"I have crossed paths with Aaron Donald," McVay stated during an appearance on The Daily Flock podcast. "And what he’s going to do is, he is thinking about this. He’s going to go through his process. And the one thing about Aaron Donald is, what he does, he does it full speed ahead."
The three-time Defensive Player of the Year has expressed interest in a comeback, and recent reports have placed him working out at the Rams' practice facility. However, the team has reportedly refrained from applying pressure on the 35-year-old.
Donald's decade-long career with the Rams was marked by significant achievements. Even the possibility of his return has generated excitement among fans, enhancing the team's perceived chances for a Super Bowl run next season. The potential reunion could also involve teaming up with Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett, whom the Rams acquired in the offseason.
