The Seattle Seahawks have been sold for an NFL-record $9.6 billion to a group led by venture capitalist Vinod Khosla, the team confirmed Saturday. The transaction is subject to approval by the National Football League.
Khosla, a prominent Silicon Valley businessman, became a non-controlling, limited partner in the San Francisco 49ers in May 2025. His involvement with a division rival adds a notable twist to the sale of the reigning Super Bowl champions.
In a statement, Khosla expressed his honor at being chosen as the next stewards of the Seahawks. "We look forward to building on the winning legacy Paul Allen created and to earning the trust of the Seahawks organization and fans everywhere," he said.
The sale process was initiated by the Estate of Paul G. Allen following the Seahawks' second Super Bowl championship win in 2026. The team is coming off a successful season, having secured their second Super Bowl title.
