The Seattle Seahawks have signed former Pro Bowl cornerback Trevon Diggs to a one-year contract, bolstering their secondary as the status of Terrion Arnold remains uncertain. Diggs, 28, brings six seasons of NFL experience, including a first-team All-Pro selection in 2021, to Seattle.

Diggs spent his previous six seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. Last season, he appeared in eight games, dealing with injuries such as a concussion and a knee injury. He was released by the Cowboys in late December and subsequently joined the Green Bay Packers, playing in two games before his release from that team.

The Seahawks' acquisition of Diggs comes a week after reports that the team intended to sign Arnold. However, Arnold is currently facing eight felony charges in Florida related to a February incident involving robbery and kidnapping. He has pleaded not guilty and denied the allegations.

According to NFL Network reports, the Seahawks are still planning to sign Arnold, but the process is expected to take time. Upon signing, Arnold is anticipated to be placed on the NFL commissioner's exempt list while the league investigates the charges. This would prevent him from practicing or playing with the team.

Diggs provides the Seahawks with another potential starter at cornerback, intended to play opposite Devon Witherspoon. The team also has Josh Jobe and rookie Julian Neal competing for playing time.
