The Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut, saw a heartwarming moment off the course when Scottie Scheffler’s infant son, Bennett, captured the attention of fans and social media.
Bennett, born in March 2024, accompanied his father to the driving range on Wednesday, toting a tiny golf bag filled with miniature clubs. Videos shared on social media platforms showed the toddler following Scheffler, the world's No. 1 golfer, and attempting his own swing with a driver.
While Bennett's shot reportedly went awry, his father appeared to offer patient guidance. The young boy then continued to follow Scheffler around the practice area with his small bag.
Scheffler is competing in the Travelers Championship following a tie for fourth place at last weekend's U.S. Open. He is known for his ability to quickly move past less favorable rounds, a trait evident in his strong performance at the Travelers Championship on Thursday after the U.S. Open conclusion.
