Aryna Sabalenka, the current World No. 1, stated her intention to "get completely drunk" and put her unexpected Wimbledon loss to Naomi Osaka behind her. Sabalenka was eliminated in the fourth round of the tournament, marking her earliest Grand Slam exit since the 2022 French Open and her first straight-sets defeat in a Grand Slam since the 2020 U.S. Open.

Osaka defeated Sabalenka 6-2, 7-6 (2) on Centre Court. Sabalenka's frustration was visible as she struck the ball out of the court after the match concluded, drawing boos from the crowd. Despite the on-court display, she shook hands with Osaka, acknowledging her opponent's strong performance.

"Obviously I’m not happy with the way I played," Sabalenka told reporters. "She overpowered me. I felt like it was an incredible level from her. With every game we would play, I would feel worse, she would feel better. She would just go for her shots freely. I wouldn’t."

Sabalenka indicated that her post-match comments might lack insight, warning that her answers would be brief. "Just know that I can handle myself much better than last year," she said. "Obviously, guys, if you were expecting something really fun, not going to happen. Probably just going to be short answers. I f–ked it up this year. Next year I’ll try to do better."

For Naomi Osaka, this victory propelled her into the Wimbledon quarterfinals, a stage she has not reached previously at the tournament. She is aiming for her first Grand Slam title since her win at the Australian Open in 2021.
