The spoof, shared on social media, plays on an incident where a Southampton intern was caught filming a Middlesbrough training session prior to a Championship play-off semi-final.

In the video, Reynolds and McElhenney emerge from behind a tree, mimicking the location where the intern was discovered. Reynolds, introducing himself as Wrexham's co-chairman, states, "Today, for no particular reason, we want to talk about the importance of privacy." McElhenney then adds, "Specifically how to prevent spies from looking at what you're doing on the internet."

The sketch, created as a promotion for Firefox, further jabs at Southampton by listing other clubs involved in similar spying incidents, including Oxford and Ipswich. The video concludes with Reynolds humorously suggesting he's watching the "Southampton pickleball team" train on his phone.

The 'Spygate' incident led to an English Football League investigation, with WhatsApp messages revealing that the intern had been praised for a spying mission on Oxford United. Southampton was ultimately excluded from the competition following the revelations.
