The Los Angeles Rams have reportedly acquired wide receiver Tutu Atwell from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for running back Jarquez Hunter. This move brings Atwell back to the Rams just five months after he departed in free agency.

Atwell was originally selected by the Rams in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. During his four seasons with the team, he played in 64 games, recorded five receiving touchdowns, and added another rushing touchdown. He served as both a deep threat and a return specialist. Atwell was part of the Rams' Super Bowl LVI roster but missed the latter half of that season due to a shoulder injury.

He had signed a one-year contract with the Dolphins in March. Atwell now returns to coach Sean McVay's offense, joining a receiving corps that includes Davante Adams and Puka Nacua. He will be an option for quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Hunter, a fourth-round pick by the Rams in the 2025 NFL Draft out of Auburn, provides depth to the Dolphins' running back group. In his rookie season in 2025, Hunter appeared in five games, primarily contributing on special teams.

The Rams are scheduled to open their season against the San Francisco 49ers in Australia on September 10. The Dolphins will face the Las Vegas Raiders on September 13.
