Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers underwent a procedure on his meniscus in Dallas, Texas, and is expected to miss the team's first two games of the season. His girlfriend, Cameron Newell, shared a photo of Bowers on her Instagram story shortly after the news broke, offering an encouraging update.

"My guy, So ready to watch you crush this season," Newell captioned the image of Bowers, who was seen giving a "hang loose" sign while wearing a sleeve on his left knee. This is the same knee that caused Bowers to miss time last season due to a PCL/bone bruise injury, eventually landing him on injured reserve for the final two games.

The injury update comes after Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak told reporters that the team was expecting all players to be ready for Sunday's game. Bowers' absence for at least the initial part of the season will leave a significant gap in the Raiders' offense.

Bowers was the 13th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and had an impactful rookie season, recording 112 receptions for 1,194 yards and five touchdowns in 17 games. In his sophomore year, he appeared in 12 games, tallying 64 receptions for 680 yards and seven touchdowns.

With Bowers sidelined, veteran tight end Michael Mayer, a 2023 second-round pick, is anticipated to step into the starting role for the Raiders.
