The Las Vegas Raiders halted a four-game losing skid with a pivotal 27-24 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday, achieving a .500 record and resetting their season narrative.

At 4-4, the Raiders can now legitimately discuss playoff contention. The win allows for continued evaluation of quarterback Kirk Cousins with a clear purpose and keeps the door open for potential roster enhancements before the trade deadline.

"At halftime, our guys were not happy," Raiders coach Klint Kubiak said. "We made some adjustments and the guys just played harder."

The team faced a challenging first half, allowing the Jets 140 rushing yards. However, a significant defensive adjustment limited the Jets to just 27 rushing yards in the second half, providing the offense an opportunity to secure the win.

"We got an interception and we forced them into two punts," Kubiak added. "I mean, it’s a four-quarter game."

Defensive end Maxx Crosby described the team's turnaround as a stand taken by the players. "It really comes down to winning your one-on-ones and outworking the man in front of you," Crosby said. "And that’s what I felt like we did."

Despite the improved second-half performance, Kubiak acknowledged persistent issues. "It’s a part of our team that we have to address. We have to continue to find ways to improve that because it’s hurting us," he stated, referring to the Jets' 167 rushing yards on 27 carries for the game.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins expressed relief and perspective after the game. "It’s been a tough four weeks so we needed that one, and we’ll enjoy the flight home now," Cousins said. "It’s great to get a win, to be .500 in November now, and to be playing meaningful football is important."

The victory provides the Raiders with momentum and a chance to evaluate their roster from a position of competitiveness. The team boarded their flight home with a win, a season that remains viable, and renewed motivation.
