Raheem Sterling Pleads Guilty to Dangerous Driving, Possessing Nitrous Oxide

Former England national team player Raheem Sterling pleaded guilty Tuesday to dangerous driving and possessing nitrous oxide, according to The Sun. The development followed an incident in May where Sterling crashed his $360,000 Lamborghini Urus in southern England.

Bodycam footage released after his court appearance shows Sterling, who was sitting in the passenger seat of the crashed vehicle, with large canisters of nitrous oxide on his lap. An officer can be heard telling him, "You can put that down mate." At least six canisters and deflated white balloons were found in the car after the crash, which severely damaged a tire.

Prior to the crash, Sterling was observed driving erratically and weaving through traffic while holding an inflated white balloon. The incident occurred during rush hour before he crashed into a gate in a layby.

Sterling, currently without a club after his release from Dutch team Feyenoord, faces potential consequences including up to two years in prison. He also declined to provide a specimen to authorities at the scene.
